BIO OF MARY NOE
Wisconsin born, Mary moved to Illinois in grade school. She graduated from Woodstock High and Northern Illinois University with a B.S. in Elementary Education and M.S. in Counseling. She worked as a teacher, then guidance counselor in Alden-Hebron School District beginning in 1971. Mary became the Director of Guidance at Marengo High School in 1995 until her retirement in 2009. The Noe family (husband Doug’s family farmed in Marengo) moved from Woodstock to Union in 1976 and both son and daughter were graduates of MCHS. Mary is a proud grandma of 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Besides the ability to spend time with family, retirement has opened the door to more time to spend with groups dear to her heart. Mary has been active with her church, Grace Lutheran-Woodstock, and McHenry County Historical Society. She is on the boards of MASEF (Marengo Area Schools Education Foundation) and McHenry County Retired Teachers Association. The opportunity to work with M.O.R.E. continues the chance to work with the families in the Marengo-Union area to provide much needed services. It is a blessing to be able to help others.
