BIO OF NORENNE DUNKER
Norenne Dunker has lived in Marengo since she was 13 years old. She is a graduate of M.C.H.S. and Sherman Hospital School of Nursing and received a Bachelor's degree from St. Frances College. Norenne worked as an R.N. at Highland Hospital, Belvidere for 23 years-mostly in the operating room. She then worked at M.C.H.S. for 19 years as the school nurse and teacher of Health Occupations. Since retiring in 1994, Norenne has been busy with activities at Zion Lutheran Church, volunteer school nurse at Zion Lutheran School, and some civic activities. She has been a volunteer at MORE for 15-16 years, mostly stocking shelves. She was married to Bob Dunker for 46 years before his death in 1999. They have 4 adult children and 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Family activities take up much of Norenne's time as do activities with friends and relatives.
